Being almost one is a pretty cool accomplishment.  At least, that is what I'll bet little Shawn thinks.

When you are almost one, you can do so many things!  You can climb in your big red wagon and let someone pull you.  And you can also push it yourself, because you are so strong.  But you probably should not try to climb out.  That is not a good idea.

When you are almost one, everyone loves to watch you.  Anything you do is impressive to the grownups.  You can make funny sounds and wave a flag and scream and clap.  It is all exciting!

When you are almost one, so many people love to snuggle you, because you are so very special.  

And Mama and Daddy love you to the moon and back!  They think everything you do is the best.

When you are almost one, you sometimes have started this new walking thing.  It is pretty much the greatest thing ever.  Though, you are probably not so sure about the grass between your toes yet.  And sometimes, you need a little help.  That is OK.  

But you know, sitting is OK, too.  And so is being held and snuggled.  

                         

When you are almost one, there are so many new things to see and discover.  This world is not just the place you live in.  It is a place of wonder and adventure.

Happy almost-first birthday, little Shawn.  You are so special!
