Leslie's 6 Month Photos // Pennsylvania Portrait Photography

I have mentioned before, but I think having a good relationship with aunts, uncles, and cousins is truly precious.  Cousins are like built-in playmates who can turn into your best friends.  I have many cousins, and I love them so much, and I wanted those relationships for my children as well.  I am grateful that this desire was answered very quickly in the lives of my children.  My sister-in-law and I have been on the same time frame with having children, so as a result, my daughter, at age three, is the oldest of FIVE cousins.  Can you picture how fun (and noisy and chaotic) get togethers are?  I would not have it any other way.  And my secret little perk to this family is that I get a bunch of absolutely precious little models that I get to photograph through life.  Like the other day when I was able to spend some time taking my niece Leslie's six month photos.

Leslie is the baby of the family.  She is also my daughter's first baby girl cousin after three boys in between them.  Oh how she adores her!  And who wouldn't?  Look how precious she is!!

Leslie's mom, whose three children are almost 3, 1, and 6 months, has her own clothing business making children's clothes.  I am so not biased when I say that she is incredibly talented and I LOVE her work.  I get to be her business photographer, and my daughter is one of her models.  I cannot wait to share with you more photos from Leslie's Lavish Boutique!  This 6 month shoot got to double as a shoot featuring her Halloween themed line.  Isn't Leslie's little outfit so cute?

And I know momma loves having a baby girl!

My niece and nephews have THE most humongous and bright blue eyes I have ever seen.  LOOK at them!!

I love this little darling so much.  She is so happy and sweet.  She has a beautiful smile, a calm disposition (I think she needs it after two active brothers), and a crazy little natural fauxhawk.  I cannot wait to watch her grow and change into a beautiful little girl!

Photography Investment // New Sessions and Prices

At last, I am ready to announce my new prices for Diana Paisley Photography, effective September 9, 2013.  Professional photography is an investment; although you do not get a financial return for photos, you receive illustrations of your life as it is right now, to help you remember precious times that fly so quickly by.

In an effort to provide affordable options for my clients, I will be offering two session options: a mini session and a regular session.  Both of these session prices include the sitting fee, processing, and a number of edited digital images.   The mini session is more reminiscent of my previous prices, while the regular session provides more photos and options at a higher rate.  Please indicate the type of session you are interested in at the time of booking.  No matter which session you choose, I promise to provide a fun, professional, and memorable experience!

OPTION ONE: Mini Session
Price: $75
includes:
-30 minute photography session, at the location of your choice, within 15 miles of Nottingham, PA.
-Online gallery link of 10 images (of the photographer's choice) to view and share photos, available for 30 days from your shoot.
-10 digital image files with print release.
-Session fee will be due at the time of booking to reserve date.

OPTION TWO: Regular Session
Price: $150
includes:
-(up to) 60 minute photography session, at the location of your choice, within 30 miles of Nottingham, PA.  Newborn sessions are commonly done at the home of the client.
-Session may include one outfit change.
-Online gallery link to view and share photos, available for 30 days from your shoot.
-30 digital image files with print release.
-50% of session fee will be due at the time of booking to reserve date.  The remainder will be due the day of the session.

All return clients will receive a one-time 20% discount off of a REGULAR SESSION.

**Please note that a "Regular" session may not be changed to a "Mini" session on the day of the shoot or after.  Please contact me for information about longer sessions, additional traveling, etc.

Thank you for your support and encouragement!!!

A beginning

This blog has been a slow process.  I had the idea to have a photography blog almost as soon as I began to take pictures as a job.  I secured the Blogger site last year.  I began the branding and design process with my wonderful friend and mentor Ellie months ago.  And now, here I am, starting my photography blog.

Welcome.

I love to tell stories, and always have.  Sometimes I like to make up stories, and sometimes I like to tell stories that are true.  But until I discovered photography, I never had a way to illustrate these stories (you don't want to see me attempt to draw anything, trust me).  This blog will be a place to illustrate the lives of the many dear families, couples, and individuals I have been blessed to photograph.  Some of my more personal stories and photographs are on my personal blog, Diana Droppings (I promise the name has a good story behind it).  Please make yourself at home in both of these places.

One of the first "assignments" I had when working on the concepts behind this blog and my business was to select three words that best describe what I want to convey with my photos.  Those words are:

Genuine.  Sincere emotion.  Real life.  Authentic stories.  I want you to feel like you know the subjects behind the photos.

Joyful.  To me, joy is deeper than happiness.  It is a great delight caused by something that is exceptionally good or satisfying.  Joy comes from the Creator, not the circumstance.  Even when life is hard, there is joy.

Beloved.  This is one of the sweetest words I know, used to describe those that are most cherished.  As it says in the Bible, Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.  ~1 John 4:7  I want my photographs to show the love that we have for each other, and that God has for us.

And that precisely is why I do what I do.  I hope you find joy here in my space.
